"In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that."
-Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founder
I can't believe the race is tomorrow morning!! It seems like yesterday that I was just starting this blog and now i've almost reached my goal. To say i'm excited and anxious for tomorrow is an understatement. It's been a long road, filled with some set backs, but i'm so ready! I'm starting to finally get over being sick. I had been coughing a lot, but got some strong medicine from the doctor yesterday that should help my symptoms. Of course, I stressed to him the importance of me feeling my best for the race, so he gave me some steriods :) Saturday is going to be very cold, probably around 30 degrees :( I'm all set with cold weather running gear, so I should be all set. My friends and I are meeting tomorrow morning and going over together. I can't wait!!
Again, thanks to everyone that has supported me along the way. I truly hope that this blog has inspired someone to start running that didn't think they could. Just months ago, thinking about running 13 miles looked so far away and almost unreachable, but now I know I can do it and that feels so good! We can all do anything we want if we push ourselves. Again, please see the link for the girls on the run website in my "about me" section. Even a 5 dollar donation will help this wonderful organization.
Wish me luck!!!
"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."
