I can't believe i'm only a week away from race day!! It's been a tough couple of weeks with me being sick, but i'm feeling a lot better now and very excited! I started getting a little down since I had to take about a week off from running. I was so worried that it would ruin a lot of my training and hard work i've put in. I decided to run eight miles yesterday and it went really well. I definetly felt sick and couldn't breath as well as normal, but my body held up really well. I'm on an antibiotic and expecting to feel great in a few days. I'm going to do a few light workouts this week and just get prepared for Saturday. Looking back, training has been hard but it's so exciting knowing that my training is basically done and i'm about to get to do the fun part. I'm looking forward to the race and crossing the finish line so much I can't stand it! This will be my first time running 13 miles! Im so fortunate to have six other friends that will be running on Saturday. One of them is running the half and the others are doing the 5k. I'm so proud of my friends and so excited to have us all there together. The race starts at 7:50am uptown, and the route is similar to some routes i've already been running, which makes me feel good.
Thanks as always, for your support. This is a goal i've had forever that is about to be fulfilled, and I'm so thankful to have so many people that have supported me throughout the process. I'll try to write one more time before Saturday!
