Bump in the road

"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do." - Confucius

Well, I unfortunately didn't run the 11 miles I had planned on this weekend. I have just felt very sick and didn't want to push myself so I don't get better for the race. I did run 4 miles on Thanksgiving day and i'm going to continue running this week. Instead of doing a light run this weekend, i'm going to go for 9-10 miles, to make sure i'm in top shape on December 12th. I'm hoping this bump in the road won't make much difference. I will say that deciding to run my first half marathon in December might not have been the best plan, but i'm making it work. Not being able to run at night (since it's already dark) and the cold weather (possibility of getting sick) makes it much tougher, but i'm pushing through! It's also really hard when it's cold to run on a treadmill, a few miles is fine, but anything over about 3 miles on the treadmill just gets so old. I'm getting so excited for the race though! I'm so close and I know the adrenaline i'm going to have that day will make a world of difference.

"Running is a big question mark that's there each and every day. It asks you, 'Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?'" - Peter Maher, Canadian marathon runner
