As i've mentioned before, I do a lot of thinking when I run, and this time was no different. This training has just given me so much positive thinking! I honestly believe that anyone can do anything that they put their mind to. In this past year, I ran a 10k, i'm about to run a half marathon, and in between I lost 15 pounds. If you asked me last January if any of that would have been accomplished, i'm sure I would have said no. We really can do anything we want. Too many times in life we make excuses for why we can't do something. I've done it many times. This is not only related to working out but everything in life. We try to justify why we don't go for the things we want, or why we think we can't accomplish them. I challenge everyone to think of something that they want or wish they could do, and go for it!! The only support you need is the support from yourself. When I run I sometimes encourage myself out loud. There is something motivating about hearing positive words out loud and I can do that for myself. We tend to rely too much on others to push us to succeed. If you get yourself in the right mindset, you can go places. If you want to loose 10 pounds...you can! If you want to get a better job...you can! If you want to train for a race, but you hate running...you can do it!! We just have to get more positive about these things. It feels so good to feel like you've accomplished something on your own. Sometimes it just takes time and keeping a positive attitude. Lets all find a goal that we can set for ourselves. We only get one life, so we shouldn't just move easily through it, lets push ourselves to do something great :)
