"Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." - Theodore Roosevelt
I did it! Something about saying I ran 9 miles is amazing to me! Running for basically an hour and a half is just a crazy thought! but I did it! It wasn't easy, but honestly it was easier than 8 miles. I think it was because I, A. Drank Gatorade and B. stetched a lot before going. My legs held up a lot better this time and I didn't get as tired. I did however, have pretty bad pain in my knees, which is still kind of hurting now, but I've heard that is pretty standard after these type of runs. I just feel so great after doing that run! Only 4 more miles and I would have ran a full half marathon! Each and every time I run I think about crossing the finish line on race day. To be honest, I almost tear up when I think about it. I think about this blog a lot when i'm running too. If I ever think about stopping, I will just think, "What am I going to do, go write in my blog that I didn't finish?" I know there are plenty of people that run marathons, but to me, this is my marathon! On my company trip to Mexico, I met a co-worker that is running the marathon on the same day i'm running the half marathon, which was nice. Hearing her talk about running 26 miles kind of made me feel not as cool, but I always love talking to people who love to run too! I do recommend drinking gatorade to all of your runners out there! Next week is a milestone cause i'm getting into the double digits! Later this week i'm going to start writing more than updates, i'm going to write more about things i'm learning about running and advice I have for others wanting to run! Stay tunned!
Your are amazing!! All of us at home are behind you and so proud!!!
