"The greatest pleasure in life, is doing the things people say we cannot do."
I completed 7 miles, but did it a little late. This past weekend was terrible weather...it's literally been raining for 4 days. I ended up waiting until Tuesday after work and ran it with a co-worker. The distance wasn't very bad, but I do remember 8 miles being one of the toughest from my previous training, so i'll need to get ready for this weekends run. I'm also doing the Race for the Cure Saturday morning, which i'm very excited about!
I love the quote listed above. It's amazing how many people doubt themselves, or others that doubt you too. I'm sure when I decided to run my first half, there was at least one person that thought I might not be able to do it, or that I wouldn't run it very well. There are so many things in life that you just assume you can't do, and for so many people running is one of those things. It's great to have your own sense of accomplishment, but it's also nice when you do something you know other people will be surprised by as well. We should never let the thoughts of others dictate what we think we can do. Other people may say running or working out is too hard, but that doesn't mean you have to think that way too! You may also look at people that run a lot and feel like you are so different than them, either physically or mentally. Don't let that hold you down! Some of the best runners I know now, were not your "typically" people you would think would excel in running or triatholons. I challenge everyone to try something that will surprise yourself and others!
