Running with a smile

I was reading a fitness magazine the other day and it had an article about a woman that ran her first marathon in New York City. It was so inspiring because she said that no matter how bad her body felt during the race, she kept a smile on her face and showed excitment. She did this so that everyone watching would see her smile and hopefully that would inspire them to run the race next year. She realized that runners don't realize how much they might be inspiring someone else. After the race, her young daughter told her that she wanted to run the New York City marathon one day. That was one of the best things that she ever heard.

I thought this story was so great! It's so true that when can inspire others just by smiling. We dont have to write blogs or talk about running in races all the time. Sometimes it's just those types of things that are inspiring.

The 5k went well. I ended up finishing in 25 minutes, which I was very happy with. It was such a different style for me, since it happens so quick, but I really liked it. I think 5k's are something that i'm going to start running more often. I think my next race is going to the Corporate Cup in Charlotte. I've organzied a group at my company Red Ventures and we are running as a company. I'm running a half marathon relay and will run a 5 mile leg. I'm so excited to do a relay race!
