"Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character."
10 miles went well on Halloween, and now i'm down to the final week before the race! I feel pretty prepared. I'm not as nervous this time around, i'm sure because it's not my first time, but i'm still getting anxious. I really want to do well and I think thats what makes me the most nervous. A big fear of mine, is that i'll actually run it slower the 2nd time, which would be disappointing. I'm trying to stay positive though and believe that I can do better! I ran it in 1 hour 55 minutes last time, so i'm hoping to decrease that. I'm so excited because my college roomate, Allison is flying in to race the race as well! I also have two co-workers running too, so we will have a crew there! I honestly think having friends at the race is really whats makes them the most fun. That way you have people to take pictures with and talk about the race with! I'm doing a few short runs this week to prepare, but basically we training is done! I'll keep everyone posted with pictures and an update after the race!
