6 Miles down! (Week 4 complete)

Well it was another interesting week with the weather, but my runs turned out well.  I had to push some of the runs to later in the week, but that was ok.  I ran the 6 miles on Saturday morning.  It's crazy to think that I ran a 10k yesterday, when six months ago, that was a distance that I had to train for.  It's interesting how your perspective can change on what is considered a "distance" run. Each Saturday I keep trying to tell myself it's just five miles....or it's just six miles.  I think you can make any type of run seem like it should be easy, based on what you make of it. Six miles really is tough though, i'm not going to try to act like it's not.  At about 4 miles, I usually start noticing that my body is getting tired.  I've been doing really well with my endurance though.  Even after the six miles, I still felt like I had more in me, but my legs were getting worn out.  Hopefully they will keep getting stronger with these runs and help me get through even longer distances.

I officially signed up for the half marathon on Thursday, so no turning back now :)  The money is non-refundable, so i'm in it for real.  Michael hurt his knee, so he's had to take a break from running this week, but i'm hoping he'll be back in action soon.  Next week is 7 miles and will be the longest distance I have ever ran!  This one is very important to me and a milestone that i've been looking forward to.  From here on out, each Saturday run will be the longest distance i've ever ran, which is really exciting!  Each week will really be a tough push for me.  With that being said, I will need all the encouragement I can get from all of you!  I know that I can complete these runs because of my drive to succeed in this training, but it's still scary to think about some of the distances coming up and my body being able to handle it.  Thanks again for everyone's encouragement so far!  I got a text message about five minutes before my run this past saturday from a friend, and all it said was, "good luck on your run today".  The fact that I knew someone was thinking about me when I was getting ready to run by myself, made me feel like I wasn't running alone at all.... :)
